5 Reasons to Own a Land Rover This Winter

15th October 2014

Winter can be beautiful, however, there's no doubt that it can be the most challenging time of the year for drivers.

Short days, extreme weather and freezing temperatures can often make roads treacherous. Land Rover's are some of the best all-conditions vehicles in the world and we look at 5 reasons why to own one this winter.

With Permanent 4WD all four wheels are transmitting power, therefore double the amount of power can be applied on snowy roads compared to 2WD vehicles, and performance on roads with low coefficients is greatly improved. Increased power is essential when driving on roads that are covered in snow and ice - with the front and rear wheels helping each other greater grip and performance is realised giving you greater control on the road.

Exclusive to Land Rover, this patented system allows you to select one of the several modes that optimise performance on a variety of different surfaces including, for this purpose – snow and gravel. Terrain Response reconfigures transmission, suspension and traction settings for maximum driveability in almost any condition. So the you'll be comfortable in the knowledge that your car will adjust to almost anything you encounter this winter.

Fitted to all Land Rover's is the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system. DSC reduces engine power and applies ABS braking to individual wheels to help maintain control, should the on board computer system detect a loss of lateral grip that could occur while turning.

All of the Land Rover range achieved 4 stars out of 5 in their respective Euro NCAP safety tests for both child and adult occupants. The Range Rover went one better achieving 5 out of 5, so which ever Land Rover you choose, rest assured that you and your passengers will be among the safest cars on the road this winter.

When you wake up on a cold winter's morning the last thing you need is to scrape the ice off your car. Thankfully most of our new and used Land Rover's have heated front and rear windscreens so you can give your hands a break from the cold. Then once you get into the car you'll be gently warmed by the automatic climate control and heated seats so you can sit back, relax and enjoy the journey ahead.  If you'd like to get your hands on a Land Rover in time for this winter follow the link here: http://ow.ly/CnpbB
